Call for Workshops

ARCS 2016 will host accompanying workshops for which it solicits proposals for workshops to be held in Nuremberg, Germany, on April 4 and 5, 2016.

Proposal Submission Deadline (hard):Nov. 30, 2016
Workshops:Apr. 4 and 5, 2016
ARCS Conference:Apr. 4 - 7, 2016

We encourage workshop organizers to submit proposals as early as possible to get a sooner notification and to gain the possibility to schedule the paper submission and the paper notification deadlines earlier in order to relax the otherwise tight schedule.

The goal of the workshop program of ARCS 2016 is to provide a platform for presenting novel ideas on topics related to computer architecture and operating systems research in a less formal and possibly more focused way than the conference itself. For a guide on what topic areas, technologies and communities fall within the ARCS focus please refer to the Call for Papers, available on the conference website.

The format of each workshop is to be determined by its organizers. The preference is for full-day workshops, but half-day workshops will also be considered.

Workshop proposals must not be longer than three pages. A proposal should include:

  • Title of the workshop
  • Preferred and potential duration(s) (half-day, one-day)
  • Contact information of the organizers (name, affiliation, email address, full postal address, phone and fax number, URL of personal homepage)
  • Brief description of the workshop
  • Estimation of the intended number of participants
  • Estimation of the expected number of paper submissions
  • Call for papers for the workshop (draft)
  • List of program committee members (may be incomplete)

The proposals should be submitted as PDF document via email to the workshop chair:
Ana Lucia Varbanescu, University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Workshop proposals will be evaluated by the organizing committee according to their relevance to the ARCS community. Further factors that may affect the review include the reputation of the workshop (if it belongs to a series) as well as the attractiveness of the proposed topic.

Accepted papers of the ARCS 2016 workshops will be published by VDE and are intended for IEEExplore. Workshop papers should not exceed 8 pages.

The proceedings of ARCS 2016 are published in the Springer Lecture Notes on Computer Science (LNCS) series, Vol 9637.
